All of our behaviour, energy, motivation, beliefs, values, and ability to change is a function of our unconscious mind.
It is this aspect of us that holds the key to resolving problems, and Hypnotherapy provides a direct link to our unconscious self…..

What is Hypnotherapy, and how does it work?
Dubbed “the gentle healer”, Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy are widely regarded as effective and safe methods for treating internal problems, negative emotions, unwanted habits and behaviours, traumatic memories, phobia’s, negative beliefs, and even medical symptoms. It has been practiced in the west for over 150 years, and offers a wide range of approaches to assist people in resolving their most troubling issues…
If you’ve never experienced a hypnotic trance before, the first and most important thing to know is this:
Banish all thoughts that you will, or can be made to do something against your will – it simply doesn’t work this way! You will be in control at all times – your unconscious mind has a strong directive to keep you safe, secure and well, and most people have some awareness of what is being communicated during a hypnosis session.
Hypnosis itself is often misunderstood – it is simply a gently relaxed trance state and a very pleasant, refreshing place to be. You may hear and be aware of things happening around you and if you choose to ‘wake’ to full consciousness at any time you’ll be perfectly able to. Studies have shown that spending 1 hour in a deep Hypnotic state is equivalent to approximately 4 hours of good, healthy sleep.
When we are in a Hypnotic State, the ‘doorway’ between the conscious, the unconscious, (and our higher conscious) mind is opened, very similar to the state you experience just before going to sleep or waking up, when you are having a dream, and when you do any form of meditation. Every person naturally passes through different trance states each day, so you can expect some familiarity with what if feels like to “be hypnotized”. It is a state in which you are able to access information outside your normal everyday awareness, and where you’re more open than usual to being able to effortlessly change the inner problems you would like to change.
When we desire to change negative parts of our life experience, sometimes we find it difficult to create change just by ‘overriding’ our behaviour consciously – forcefully telling ourselves that “we’re really going to change this part of our life” often doesn’t have the desired effect!
That’s where Hypnosis plays it’s key role in creating positive changes – by relaxing into our unconscious selves we can find and resolve the issues that exist inside, making the process of change a lot easier and more enjoyable.
